warranty + care

We offer a lifetime warranty on our bags that covers material or manufacturing defects. The lifetime warranty does cover all the hardware on our bags.

The warranty does not cover natural aging of the leather (scratches, marks on leather, patina, natural softening of the leather causing changes in shape or structure of the bag, etc.), water marks, or misuse/mistreatment of the bags.

In the event of a problem with the bag, we will either: repair it and ship it back to you or reimburse you for repair costs incurred in your local area. If a repair is not possible, we will issue a store credit equivalent to the purchase price of the bag. To process a warranty claim, we require the following information:

-The original order number or name of purchaser if purchased through Satchel & Page

-Proof of purchase if purchased through a 3rd party authorized retailer

Please contact info@satchel-page.com for any repair requests. Please note, customers are responsible for shipping costs to our repair facility.

With any fine vegetable tanned leather product, you must care for it over time to ensure it ages as intended:

Leather Care

Our leather is natural and naked and we do not use any paint or chemical sealer. This is type of leather that will patina beautifully over time. When the bag is brand new and shiny, as a precaution, we recommend avoiding exposure to water. If the bag does get rained on, we recommend quickly wiping the bag dry. The reason for this is that when the leather is new, the oils are near the surface of the leather. If water is left on the surface of a brand new leather bag for a period of time, in rare cases, it can leave marks as the water is stuck between the surface of the leather and the oils. This is an issue with any leather bag made from vegetable tanned leather that is not heavily chemically processed.

Over time as the bag is used, these marks will go away as the water is fully absorbed into the leather, so there is no reason to worry if your bag does get rained on.

Once the leather is broken in a bit (i.e. becomes less shiny), water will be absorbed fully into the leather and there would not be any marks if the leather is rained on. Thousands of customers use our bags in rainy climates without issue.

Conditioning: We have tested many products, and after not being fully satisfied with any of them, we developed our own, custom formulated Leather Balm

Satchel & Page Leather Balm is great for hydrating, conditioning, and waterproofing leather. It also provides protection for leather exposed to extreme conditions, while still allowing the leather to breathe and age naturally. If you desire, you can use our Leather Balm to reduce the appearance of scratches the bag has picked up over time.

We recommend using a small amount of Leather Balm and rubbing it in the leather with the included sponge vigorously. To remove/reduce the appearance of scratches, apply the Leather Balm on the scratch and bend that area of the leather. Like most conditioners, Satchel & Page Leather Balm may darken the leather temporarily. Please use our Leather Balm as needed, or whenever the leather shows any signs of dryness

Storage: Store your bag in a cool, ventilated area away from sunlight or flourescent lighting.
